About Us
AIESEC is a global platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential. We are a non-political, independent, not-for-profit organization run by students and recent graduates of institutions of higher education. Its members are interested in world issues, leadership, and management. AIESEC does not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion or national/social origin.
Since we were founded, we have engaged and developed over 1,000,000 young people who have been through an AIESEC experience. The impact of our organization can be seen through our alumni who represent business, NGO and world leaders, including one Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Martti Ahtisaari of Finland.
Youth-run Organisation
We are a global network of young leaders under the age of 30 who strive to improve themselves and the communities around them. We are passionate about world issues, leadership development, cultural understanding, and experiential learning.
The organization spans 126 countries and territories and every aspect of AIESEC’s operations are managed by students and recent graduates.
We have operated in this way since our inception, making us uniquely “by students, for students”, for over 65 years. The global leadership teams are elected by the membership annually.
Independent & non-political
AIESEC does not have a pre-defined or officially accepted political tendency or subscription.
AIESEC is not a subsidiary or dependent entity of any other bodies in its work, sustainability or decisions.
We are in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), affiliated with the UN DPI, member of ICMYO, and is recognized by UNESCO.

A very important aspect of participating in an AIESEC Internship abroad (Global Entrepreneur or Global Talent) is having a relevant Curriculum Vitae (CV). It is recommended that you talk to an AIESEC representative before applying to any opportunity, as they can give you valuable feedback for improving your CV.
The entire process can seem a little complicated, but as long as you follow the directions that are offered, you will be able to participate in an AIESEC Internship abroad with little effort.
In the Global Volunteer product, you will be working in an NGO for 6 - 8 weeks doing a project related to one of the SDG Goals.
After choosing for your favorite project, you apply for it and your home entity will be talking to you to guide the next steps. You will be facing the selection process, that is based in a chat with the host entity or a simple form that you will be filling in.
During the project, you will have spaces provided by AIESEC where you can develop the leadership skills that you most lack seeing your LDA (Leadership Development Assessment). It's an excellent opportunity to meet other people that are doing other projects.
After your project ends, you will return to your home and meet AIESEC one more time to tell us how was your experience! We love to hear and know if there is something we can improve
